For the academic year 2017-2018, the school received £15,400 in Sports Funding. Please see the table below on how the school proposes to allocate the money.

  • Staff using planning from First Grade Sports (FGS) where appropriate

  • FGS coaches have been extremely effective both during school lessons for PPA and have been excellent with after school clubs.

  • Having not needed to spend this amount, we will drop down to the Silver package in the new school year. We did not do any CPD due to cancellations. The majority of the money was needed for access to competitions.

  • Intra house and year group competitions embedded in all PE lessons
Inter-School
  • Firfield attends competitions in a variety of sports, ranging from gymnastics festivals, cheerleading, tennis, netball, rugby, athletics, cricket and hockey
  • Friendlies are being arranged with other local schools as an additional form of competition prior to main sporting events to allow pupils to learn from essential experience
  • Ongoing throughout the year

  • County finalists in table tennis, girls football, basketball.
  • Every pupil given fair chance in all clubs for age group.
  • Inter school competitions have been extremely effective and have allowed for more pupils to represent the school in a variety of different capacities.
