Firfield PTA

Firfield Primary School PTA

What is the PTA?

The PTA is a group of parents who are willing to give up some time (not that much!) to meet and organise fund raising events.  The money raised through these events is used to improve facilities for the children. for example, over the years we have funded:

  • 32 iPads with cases, a charging trolley and apps
  • Trim trail
  • Dining tables
  • Tyre park resurfacing
  • A new hutch for the school rabbits
  • Contributions towards school trips

We are currently raising funds to go towards the total renovation of the school hall which will include a new surround sound system, PA equipment and redecoration including new curtains and lighting.  During 2016/17, we raised an amazing £8,468 - THANK YOU to all who helped us achieve that fantastic total.  We're aiming to raise even more this year.

Who are the PTA?

The PTA has a committee which includes a Chair, Secretary and Treasurer, all of whom are voted in at the October AGM.  We also have a Helpers List of parents who provide valuable support by both preparing for, and assisting during, our events.  All parents can attend our meetings which are usually held every 4-6 weeks in the Bulls Head and we would welcome any new members.  If you would like to speak to us about joining the PTA committee or helpers list, or about any fundraising events or ideas, please feel free to either speak to either speak to us in the playground or we can be contacted through the school office.

  • Chair - Samm Honeybell
  • Secretary - Vic Beardmore
  • Treasurer - Gail Patching
