Thank you to all the PTA and all others involved who got involved. We had another great turn out and raised lots of money for the PTA to fund the next goal. Children loved all the different activities on offer, including Story Time with Santa, the Bubble House and lots of different stalls to purchase things such as cakes and hand-made jewellery.
And a big thank you to Santa - of course!
As part of this year's Christmas Performances we will have donation pots out to raise money for Young Lives vs Cancer. All money raised will go towards charity instead of funding costumes and resources.
Thank you in advance for your generosity.
It is already that time of year again... Christmas is here! The PTA and school are hosting the annual Christmas Fair, it will take place this Friday 1st December 2023 between 5pm to 7pm. There are lots of fun activities for all the family including festive games, tombola, glitter tattoos and even some nice drinks for the adults. The raffle has lots of great prizes to be won. New for 2023 is Story Time with Santa in the grotto (taking place in the new reading lodge) and the Bubble House.
Entry to the fair is free. We hope to see you all on Friday!
All pupils and staff at Firfield got stuck into Children in Need, the whole school came together on the playground to set up stalls to raise money for charity. Pupils led their own stalls with some selling bakes, books and small toys and others selling services such as glitter tattoos and hair spray painting. It was lovely to see some of our older children supporting younger pupils. Thank you to all the staff and parents for helping put together a fantastic afternoon.
The Rotary Club of Long Eaton are inviting our children and parents/guardians to attend their Free Family Fun Day on Wednesday 30th August 2023. The day will take place at West Park in Long Eaton from 12pm to 4pm and will include lots of exciting free activities such as the bouncy castle and face painting. Please do share amongst your friends and families!
Over the past few weeks, pupils have been enjoying their time at cooking club and learning new skills as they go. Pupils have prepared and cooked meals for themselves and for their families to taste. Themes so far have included Greek, Mediterranean and Italian. It is great to see the pupils developing not only their independence but their kitchen skills too.
On Wednesday 21st June to Friday 23rd June 2023, Year 6 pupils went on their residential trip and stayed for two nights at Whitehall. Pupils were split into groups and enjoyed lots of different activities during their visit. Pupils were put through their paces and enjoyed activities such as rock climbing, canoeing, rope walking and team building exercises. Today pupils had a visit from the team at Severn Trent to discuss the importance of ensuring water is not contaminated through every day tasks. The pupils and staff both really enjoyed the presentation, and thoroughly enjoyed the workshops where pupils got to get involved in learning about what could affect the cleanliness of water. Thank you to Severn Trent for coming out to our school to raise awareness amongst our pupils.
