About Us

Welcome to Firfield Primary School

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your interest in our school website and hope you find the information included of interest.

Firfield Primary School is constantly striving to provide an excellent education for our children with opportunities to learn through first hand, practical experiences which are challenging, meaningful and fun!

As a school we are recognised by a number of outside agencies for a variety of awards; Silver Artsmark, DCCAnti - Bullying STOP award, Silver Eco-School Award and Silver School Games Award.

We have a strong commitment to involving pupils in the life of the school and have an active school council made up of representatives from Year 1 to Year 6, digital leaders, sports ambassadors, lunchtime helpers, playground buddies and house captains.

We offer an extensive range of clubs which include; football, cricket, netball, running, gymnastics, chess, art, choir, a variety of dance and recorder clubs. These clubs are changed each term dependent on weather.

As a school, we have strong performing arts across the school, with many children taking part in a range of dance and drama activities throughout the year. The school also funds Year 4 children to learn a musical instrument for the year.  Events include performing in the local secondary school’s dance festivals, national choir events and an annual soiree.

We have a P.T.A. which provides valuable support in raising funds throughout the year.  These funds have contributed towards the purchase of iPads, a fantastic trim trail and subsidised trips and activities in school.  We have very good relationships with the local cluster of schools and are developing good links with our pre-school providers. There are excellent transition arrangements in place with both Friesland and Wilsthorpe secondary schools which start for our pupils in year 5.
